
The city government of Santo Domingo expects to invest RD$230 million to improve the rain drainage in the city. The project will be carried out with central government funds.
The drainage works will be carried out at the streets — Nicolás de Ovando, Santo Cura, Respaldo 36. Works will also take place on streets in the capital city neighborhoods: Naco, Piantini, Los Restauradores, Ciudad Moderna (avenida A Sur), La Castellana, Arroyo Hondo and Mercado Nuevo (El Corralito). Furthermore, waterworks will be carried out at the Av. Luperón, from 27 de Febrero to John F. Kennedy, Ortega y Gasset, Caonabo, 27 de Febrero, San Martín, Expreso V Centenario and Vega Real. Also at the underpass at Av. Núñez de Cáceres and the south side of the Av. 27 de Febrero corner Av. Abraham Lincoln.
