The Ministry of Tourism announces overhaul of Bayahibe Beach parking area

The works to at Bayahibe Beach, about half an hour from La Romana (Casa de Campo) and Punta Cana, include improvements on the large parking lot in Bayahibe Beach. The Ministry of Tourism authorized RD$192,316,767 to hone the parking area to meet the demands of tour operators, users of the pier and visitors to Bayahibe Beach.

Bayahibe Beach is a town with many beach front restaurants, making it the attraction for tourists staying at the adjacent Dominicus Beach resort area.

“Here we are fulfilling our commitment and addressing this fair and old demand of Bayahibe stakeholders. Without a doubt, this work will mark a before and after here on the beach of Bayahibe,” said Minister Collado.

The parking area is a space of 26,000 square meters fitted for 66 buses, 129 cars or SUVS, and 28 motorcycles.

The works include public bathrooms, a police detachment and five security booths of the Tourist Police (Politur).

The Ministry of Tourism is funding the construction of 2,364 square meters of sidewalk and the landscaping of 6,613 square meters of green areas, rainwater drainage works and lighting.
