The Central Electoral Board (JCE) has proposed to political parties the issuing of a new ID for the Dominican Republic.
The renewal of the identity and electoral card would begin in October 2024 and conclude in October 2025. The new document would contain a chip and enhanced security measures.
The Central Electoral Board (JCE) is engaged in preparing the tender to be held on 15 January 2024. The tender timeline establishes the contract with technology supplier would be signed in April 2024.
