Ambassador Anabel Bueno Santana presented her credentials as Dominican Republic’s Permanent Representative to the World Tourism Organization (UN-Tourism) to the Secretary General of said organization, Zurab Pololiskashvili on 25 January 2024.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Bueno reaffirmed the commitment of the Dominican Republic to multilateralism and UN Tourism efforts, considering the importance of the tourism sector for the social and economic development of the country and the scope of sustainable development objectives.
Bueno is a career diplomat. At the time of her appointment, she was alternate ambassador for the Dominican Republic to the Organization of American States in Washington, D.C. She had been appointed to the position with the change of government in 2020.
She will now be based in Madrid, Spain.
