6th Meeting of Energy Ministers from the Americas in Punta Cana

The Sixth Meeting of Energy Ministers of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) will take place at the Barcelo Bavaro Convention Center in Punta Cana this coming 14-15 March 2024.

The focus is: Renewable Energy in the Americas: Integration and Innovation.

The 6th Meeting of Energy Ministers is a high-level event that convenes government leaders, private sector representatives, experts in energy and sustainable development, and other key stakeholders from across Latin America and the Caribbean. This high-level gathering focuses on discussing, exchanging ideas, and forming concrete commitments to further the transition to clean, sustainable, and renewable energy in the Americas.

The summit will feature the participation of Luis Almagro, secretary general of the Organization of American States (OAS); Rayén Quiroga, head of the Energy and Water Unit of the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC) and Andrés Rebolledo, Executive Secretary of the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE).

Among the confirmed participants are: Mark Phillips, Prime Minister of Guyana; Lilia Burunciuc, Director of Operations for the Caribbean of the World Bank (WB). In addition, 15 energy ministries from the region will be represented at the event.

Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and Energy & Mines Minister Antonio Almonte will act as hosts.
