Sunny skies ahead as tropical wave moves on

Residents and visitors in the Dominican Republic can expect a significant decrease in rainfall over the next few days as the active tropical wave that has been drenching the country continues to move away.

While the worst of the stormy weather is over, scattered showers and thunderstorms are still possible, especially in the afternoons and evenings, due to the combined effects of a weak upper-level trough and local heating.

The weather department, Indomet has issued alerts and warnings for potential flooding, landslides, and river swelling in vulnerable areas mainly in the northeastern, southeastern and central mountain regions. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow instructions from local authorities.

Looking ahead to Thursday, better weather is forecast nationwide as the weather systems move on.
