President Luis Abinader will travel to Mexico City on Monday, 30 September 2024 to attend the inauguration of President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. President Abinader is scheduled to depart in the afternoon arriving in Mexico City in the early evening.
On Tuesday, 1 October 2024, Abinader will participate in the swearing-in ceremony for Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the first woman to hold the Presidency of Mexico. The event will take place at the San Lázaro Legislative Palace, with the official ceremony set to begin at 11am.
Following the inauguration, President Abinader will head to the National Palace of Mexico for a formal greeting, an official photo session, and a lunch hosted for heads of state and government as well as delegation leaders.
Abinader is scheduled to return to the Dominican Republic on Tuesday, 1 October 2024.
The Presidency says on this trip will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez and a small delegation, including Cabinet director Eilyn Beltrán, personal assistant Mercedes Pichardo, General Jimmy Arias (ERD), Director of CUSEP, Colonel Rafael Ramírez, a member of the presidential escort, and Daniel García Archibald, the President’s press director.
