Storm headed to the Caribbean; DR expected to be spared

Weather forecasters are following a broad area of low pressure (AL94) that could develop over the Caribbean Sea later in the week. The United States’ NHC says the system has a 50% chance of developing storm conditions in the next seven days.

MikeFisher of DR1 Weather doubts the system will impact the Dominican Republic. He expects that before hitting the Leeward Islands, the system will have a heading to WNW-NW and “thus at worst bring rains to the northeastern part of the island”.
