The boom in Colombia-Dominican travel is attributed to the interest in both Dominicans traveling to Colombia for shopping, restaurant and cultural travel, and Colombians coming to enjoy the resorts of the Dominican Republic and cultural and shopping attractions.
On 24 October 2024, Minister of Tourism David Collado was in Colombia to promote the Dominican destination.
