Weather guru Jean Suriel forecasts a chilly Christmas for the 2024 Christmas holidays. He writes on X: “Christmas will be very cold for most of the Dominican Republic, especially from Tuesday, 24 December to Saturday, 28 December due to prevalent winds brought by the northern cold weather.”
For the following days, Suriel says winds filled with moisture are making their way here from the Atlantic Ocean. He says these winds will meet with a trough that is already bringing rain to a good part of the national territory.
The National Weather Institute (Indomet) also warns about the high surf prevalent
for the north coast.
