Meteorologist Jean Suriel reports that the Dominican Republic will continue to experience cool temperatures in the coming days due to the approach of four frontal systems to the Caribbean.
Suriel stated, as reported in El Caribe, that these systems will maintain a polar air mass over the country for at least two weeks, causing significant temperature drops, especially at night.
Through his X account, Suriel had detailed that through Friday 10 January 2025, no significant rains are expected nationwide, as the weather will be dominated by a high-pressure system located in the Atlantic. However, scattered showers caused by humid winds cannot be ruled out.
As of Saturday, 11 January, weather will change due to the proximity of a trough. Rain is expected to be concentrated mainly in the northern, northwestern and northeastern regions, and the Central Mountain Range. Precipitation could intensify as cold front number 12 approaches impacting the north of the country first.
For Sunday, 12 January, Suriel anticipates showers and chilly weather nationwide, due to the combination of the trough and the arrival of cold front.
