Construction has begun on the underground tunnel that will skirt around the Plaza de la Bandera to not affect the arch of the important public space designed by Dominican architect Christian Martinez.
Works are advancing at a good pace on the intersection of Isabel Aguiar and 27 de Febrero avenues, the long-time traffic bottleneck that needed to be resolved. President Luis Abinader had announced the advance money of the extension of the Aerodom airport contract would be used for the project and the project has proceeded at a fast pace, contrary to several other infrastructure constructions, such as the Km 9 of the Duarte.
Turista Urbano and Bill Lockward You Tube channels share visuals of the advances in the roadwork that will facilitate those driving to the southwest or continuing on the 27 de Febrero as the capital city’s main thoroughfare connects with the Duarte Highway to the north.
