The mountain area of Constanza, in the tallest mountains of the Caribbean, is enjoying or suffering from extreme low temperatures. The weather report is that the thermometer dropped below zero on the early morning of 19 March 2025. A cold front has moved our way. A temperature of -4°C (25°F) was reported in the valley area of Constanza.
Noticias SIN reported that the phenomenon even surprised the locals. The mountain landscape was transformed into a winter wonderland with ice formations.
Experts attribute this abrupt temperature drop to a combination of seasonal climatic factors and particular atmospheric conditions. Jean Suriel of CDN Weather had forecast a cold front would be passing our way.
Meanwhile, in the capital city and coastal areas the temperatures have been pleasant — around 20°C (68°F) in the early morning.
