Marileidy Paulino still awaiting thousands promised for winning in Grand Slam Track competition

The Times of the UK is reporting that athletes who won cash awards in the Grand Slam competitions this 2025 have yet to receive the cash.

This includes Dominican Olympic gold medal winner Marileidy Paulino, who Diario Libre reports has not received the promised payments for competing in the Grand Slam Track events. Paulino won two events and so is owed US$200,000. Fellow runner Alex Ogando had hoped also to receive a promised US$80,000. The Grand Slam competitions took place in Jamaica, Miami and Philadelphia. A fourth race to be held in Los Angeles was called off.
