In a coordinated strike against the Dominican Republic’s underground economy, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs (MICM), acting through its own Specialized Fuel Control and Goods Commerce Corps (CECCOM), dismantled a clandestine fueling operation in San Juan de la Maguana.
In the Sabaneta municipal district of San Juan de la Maguana, CECCOM agents, accompanied by prosecutor Adolfo Féliz Pérez, executed a raid on an illegal fuel station designed to evade regulatory oversight and safety protocols.
The operation uncovered two underground metal storage tanks with a capacity of 5,000 gallons each. The fueling station used a professional-grade fuel dispenser equipped with hoses and nozzles. The station featured a structural camouflage system consisting of a roof designed to hide the equipment from aerial or street-level detection.
The total value of the fuel and equipment seized amounts to RD$1,136,150. Under heavy military custody, the assets were transported to CECCOM headquarters for processing by the Legal Custody Department.
