According to General Antonio Imbert Barreras, president of the State’s gold mine, Rosario Dominicana, “the production of gold will rise from 450 to 600 troy ounces daily.” He made the statement when being questioned by reporters after his recent meeting with President Balaguer. The General added, “We will be able to produce metal to a value of RD$3,250,800 daily in 1966.”
