Jacinto Peynado, presidential candidate for the PRSC said that he chose Maribel Gassó because “she is the best qualified to work with me, with different experiences to mine, and can add more to my own capabilities.” He added, “I want a vice president who will be a symbol of a renovated government which is young and open, who can share my commitment to improve the education of our children, to create more and better employment, reduce the cost of living, feel sensitive to the needs of the Domincian people, and look forward to the 21st century.
Mr Peynado emphasized that he saw Maribel Gassó as an election partner with administrative experience, who was sensible and possessed common sense. He said that those who know her “understood what a positive person she is, her talents, energy and successes. She is a woman committed to achieve the highest levels of excellence in our nation.”
