Congress is having trouble in obtaining a quorum for its sessions as many of its members are out campaigning. On Tuesday, the session had to be canceled because out of a total of 120 deputies, only 43 showed up. The same occurred for the senators, of which only 18 arrived, 13 for the PRSC and five for the Acuerdo de Santo Domingo. There were 22 senators absent, including seven from the PRD and two from the PRSC. Senator Jaime David Fernández, the sole PLD senator, has said he will not attend the sessions as he is busy campaigning for vice president for the PLD.
