Enrique Iglesias, president of the Interamerican Development Bank, said that the institution has between US$150 and US$200 million available annually to assist with the priorities that will be addressed by the new government taking over power on 16 August. He also said that the new government can expect a strong involvement on the part of the IDB and considered the maintenance of the macroeconomic stability as crucial.
