According to a survey made by the company Gallup-Dominican Republic, 86% of Dominicans consider that the current monetary authorities acted correctly when the Central Bank took over the control of Bancomercio. The survey, held between the 26 and 29 of June, says that 86 percent of those polled think that the measure taken by the Central Bank was prudent, 60% believes that the salvaging of the Bancomercio was timely and 89% understand that the bank must remain a private entity.
