New authorities make life more difficult for drug traffickers

The Presidency is proud that illicit drug confiscations are up 629% in 2020 compared to the numbers for the past authorities. The Presidency reports that from September to December 2020, the new law enforcement authorities managed to seize 1,964 packages of cocaine. This is compared to 312 reported seized between January and August 2020 by the previous government

The Presidency congratulated the Armada and the National Drug Control Agency for their excellent work at ports and coastal areas.

The Abinader administration says that in the last four months of the year, the authorities seized 86.3% of all the captures of the year 2020.

Similarly, as a result of the work of the authorities, 14 people involved in drug trafficking were captured in drug operations in Punta Cana, San Pedro de Macorís, Peravia, Azua, Samaná, Bayahibe and Barahona.
