
National District Mayor Carolina Mejía was a speaker in the Third Euroasian Women’s Forum. She shared her vision of the role of women as influencers to confront the challenges in the exercise of politics and government. The event took place in the Russian city from 13 to 15 October 2021.
The capital city mayor spoke on the role of Dominican women in politics today. Her virtual participation was coordinated by the Dominican Embassy in Russia.
The Forum was organized by the Russian Federation Council and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States and was operated by the Roscongress Foundation.
Forum guests were greeted by the Russian President Vladimir Putin during the plenary session that took place on 14 October.
The Third Eurasian Women’s Forum brought together more than 2,500 participants (hybrid format). The organizers explained some three million people joined the Forum events in real time via the Internet. The theme of the 2021 event was A Global Mission in a New Reality.”
During the event participants took plart in a series of webinars and an on-site panel discussion organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) within the framework of the third Eurasian Women’s Forum held in St. Petersburg.
