
The Gran Teatro del Cibao, the main cultural venue in Santiago de los Caballeros, announces the National Symphony Orchestra’s Spring Concerts season. The Ministry of Culture and the Sinfonía Foundation are the sponsors of the event.
Maestro José Antonio Molina, chief conductor and music director of the orchestra, has programmed the series of concerts for the main cultural venue of Santiago, the country’s second-largest city. Three concerts are scheduled for May and June at 8pm.
Maestro Santy Rodríguez, assistant director of the National Symphony Orchestra, will conduct the orchestra for the inaugural concert on Wednesday, 25 May 2022. The Annual Music Award 2021 José Reyes work, Concertino for Clarinet and Orchestra, is on the program. Clarinetist Darleny Gonzalez. Also on the evening program is Antonin Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 From the New World.
Puerto Rican Maestro Jaime Morales will conduct the second concert on 15 June 2022. On the program is Serenata, the composition by Julio Alberto Hernández, Franz Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 Unfinished and Dominican composer and orchestra director Bienvenido Bustamante’s Concert for Saxophone and Orchestra with talented saxophone player Gregorio Méndez.
The final third concert is set for 29 June. The chief conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Jose Antonio Molina will be in Santiago to present his own “Fantasía Merengue,” the Tchaikovsky Concert for Violin and Orchestra, played by internationally known Dominican violinist Aisha Syed.
