The National Office of Seismic Evaluation and Vulnerability of Infrastructure and Buildings (Onesvie) recommends demolishing the affected area of the building of the Engineers, Architects and Surveyors Guild (Codia) on Padre Billini Street in the Colonial City. The section had collapsed. Preliminary reports are that it was affected by construction next door. The Onesvie recommended that only authorized persons have access to the area.
The caving in of the roof occurred on Friday, 10 June 2022 in the evening and no persons were injured. The damage to the building, that is almost on the corner of Isabel La Católica, was in the interior. The colonial times façade was not affected and the damage is not visible from the street.
