
The Ministry of Economy reports that as of 6 February 2023, the Dominican peso had appreciated against the US dollar (-0.40%), the Euro (-1.87%), the Chinese yuan (-0.94%), the Canadian dollar (-0.99%) and the Japanese yen (-3.16%) compared to the previous day.
The Macroeconomic Analysis Department at the Ministry of Economy points out that as of 6 February the price of WTI oil increased by 0.98%, compared to the day before, to trade at US$74.11 per barrel. It specifies that during the 4-10 February week, fuel prices remained unchanged in the national market compared to the previous week, with the exception of Avtur that dropped RD$28.21.
According to the summary, as of 3 February, the weighted average lending interest rate was 14.63%, while the weighted average deposit interest rate was 10.00%, registering a variation compared to the previous day of -1.60 p.p. and -1.27 p.p., respectively.
