CEPM, the main power utility in the Punta Cana area, has ordered cash reimbursements from December 2022 to households in Punta Cana for charges for solar energy installations. Spokespeople for affected households went on a media tour and used legal channels through Protecom of the Superintendency of Electricity with a successful outcome. Protecom ruled the solar power related charges were irregular. The bills for June no longer have the charges for “potencia.”
