SCJ definitively closes case against the president of the Chamber of Accounts

Janel Andres Ramirez / El Caribe

The Court of Special Instruction of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) rejected the objection filed by plaintiffs Virginia Ofelia Correa Jimenez and Bella Massiel Garcia Paulino. It confirmed the ruling that ordered the definitive filing of the criminal proceedings initiated against Janel Andres Ramirez Sanchez, president of the Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic.

According to the SCJ, this is ruled in the application of Article 281, numeral 6, of the Criminal Procedural Code, after considering that, as determined by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in the case, the facts denounced do not configure the criminal type of sexual harassment foreseen in Art. 333-2 of the Criminal Code.
