Heatwave envelopes the DR

The Dominican Republic continues under a heat spell. Temperatures of 33C+ are the new normal, and morning lows have been above average, around 24C.

While excessive heat is the constant, a trough is forecast to bring rains to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana this week. The Weather Office says the rains will be in the afternoon and the provinces most affected by the rains will be Santiago, Dajabón, Montecristi and Espaillat.

Meanwhile, a storm is struggling to be as it moves west from Africa into Caribbean waters.
