Two regional volleyball tournaments are taking place in Punta Cana, as the eastern beach destination reaffirms itself as a leading sports tourism destination. The 2024 Norceca Beach Volleyball Tour will be held 1-5 October, with 14 teams participating. This is to be followed by the U23 North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation Beach Championship from 6-9 October, with 16 teams. both at Los Corales Beach in Punta Cana.
The 2024 Norceca Beach Volleyball Tour will be played from 2 to 4 October. The participating countries are Canada, Costa Rica, Bermuda, Jamaica, Guatemala, Virgin Islands, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago, United States, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Cayman Islands, and Cuba. Both Canada and the host country, the Dominican Republic, will participate with two teams per gender.
Playing for the Dominican Republic are:
Rolvin Maldonado, Hayerling de Jesús, George Wilmore and Melvin de Jesús in the men’s division. Esmeralda Ramírez, Nallely Taveras, Crismil Paniagua and Darlenys Olivo will compete in the women’s division.

This event will then be followed by the U23 North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation Beach Championship, the Punta Cana Beach Volleyball Classic, now in its eighth year. The pool play set to begin on 7 October 2024 and the Round of 16 elimination phase on 8 October. The quarterfinals, semifinals and the medal matches will all happen on 9 October. This event qualifies teams for the Panamerican Junior Games in 2025.
The Punta Cana Classic tournament is part of the competition program of the Fundación Turismo Dominicana that is presided by Ernesto Veloz, who is also president of the Association of Hotels and Tourism Projects of the East (Asoleste).
