During his 3-4 August weekend visit, this time to San Jose de las Matas, a tiny town nestled in the foothills of the central mountains to the south of Santiago de los Caballeros, President Danilo Medina met with businesswomen in the sector of Sabaneta and offered them low-cost financing. As well as harvesting coffee, they also gather and stockpile the crop for other producers. While there is an old coffee factory, it is not used, and the President said that he would send some experts to check out the feasibility of providing new equipment and placing the product on the international markets.
