Estrella supporters on the alliance

As reported in Diario Libre, the PRSC?s political secretary, Johnny Jones, said the PLD-PRSC makeshift union was nothing less than an act of despair on the part of the PLD, whose leaders were trying to confuse PRSC voters by using the party?s symbols. El Caribe informs that the PRSC faction supporting Eduardo Estrella?s candidacy would expel those PRSC members who have lent their support to Fernandez. Ramon Rogelio Genao, the PRSC?s secretary, told El Caribe: ?Those citizens, all, without exception, will receive the penalties contemplated in our by-laws and will be ejected from the Reformist Party.?

He argued that the alliance was a desperate maneuver by Leonel Fernandez, who is concerned about the possibility of a second round in which Eduardo Estrella, with the support of the PRD, could reach the Presidency.
