Taxis to cost RD$60

A ride in one of the radio-operated taxis in Santo Domingo will now cost RD$60. The taxi companies agreed to increase their rates by RD$10. Las Americas taxi service (excluding the airport-based taxis and hotel taxis that are more expensive) was increased to RD$350, up from RD$300, as reported in Hoy newspaper.

The charter airline Canada 3000 has grounded all of its flights due to financial problems stemming from the 11 September attacks.
