Japan is biggest donor to DR

El Siglo newspaper (Sunday, 1 October) reported that the DR received from 1993-99 donations for US$311.2 million. Donor countries are as follows: Japan US$138.2 million (44.4%) Spain US$62.8 million (20.1%) Germany US$49.6 million (15.9%) France, Taiwan, Korea and the US also made significant contributions.
