President-elect Hipólito Mejía met with former President Joaquin Balaguer. After the meeting, Mejía said that Balaguer authorized him to include Reformista Party members in his cabinet. Mejía visited with Balaguer for about half an hour. He was accompanied by Eligio Jaquez, his choice for Minister of Agriculture.
