More money for the government

El Caribe newspaper today reports that government revenues for the first quarter of the year were 13.7% more than budgeted from January to April. For the period, the government received RD$45.23 billion, but had estimated revenues of RD$39.76 billion. Of the amount, RD$38.14 billion corresponded to taxes, while RD$3.6 billion was derived from foreign financing.
