Arturo Villanueva, executive vice president of the National Hotel & Restaurant Association, was named the Association Executive of the Year, Large Association Category, in the Caribbean by the members of the Caribbean Hotel Association for 2007. The announcement came during the Caribbean Hotel Association’s Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Conference held in June in Miami.

The Brazil- based Sol Airlines, with Dominican registration HI, is ready to start its operations to nine destinations. Airline general manager Jose Jourdain, speaking in Diario Libre, says that the airline will be using Boeing 767-200 planes with capacity for 224 and a British Aerospace BAE-146 that can seat up to 106.
