Central Bank statistics indicate that 1,958,729 non-resident foreigners and 257,256 non-resident Dominicans have visited from January to June. This is 5.22% more than last year. The number of non-resident Dominicans is down 3.96% compared to last year, but the number of foreign travelers is up 6.55%.

Luis Molina, executive director of Sans Souci Ports that manages the Santo Domingo cruise port, says that the arrival of 34 ships and 70,000 cruise ship passengers for the 2007-2008 cruise ship season proves the popularity of the Santo Domingo stop.
