The southwestern Bani folklore group, Robalagallina, won the first price among competing folkloric groups in the Santo Domingo National Carnival Parade on 7 March. The group won RD$250,000. The jury recognized the group for their originality, beauty, and creativity. Some 25 awards in eight categories were awarded.
