Haitian fugitive Amaral Duclona has been extradited to France. The French government had requested the extradition on the grounds that Duclona murdered a French honorary consular officer, Paul Henri Mourral in Haiti in 2005. The fugitive had been living in La Romana, where he was arrested by National Drug Control Department (DNCD) agents.

The Ministry of Public Works has announced that it is closing the 27 February Avenue tunnel for maintenance works. The tunnel will be closed from 10pm on Thursday to 6am on Friday. The tunnel runs under the Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill avenues.
