The National Council for Citizen Participation has elected Rosalia Sosa Perez as its new executive director. She replaces Javier Cabreja. First gold bar poured

The Pueblo Viejo gold mine has poured its first gold bar and is gearing up for commercial production later this year. The project is a joint venture between Barrick Gold (60%), and Goldcorp (40%).
