The Dominican Republic produces vegetables in greenhouses all over the country, according to a report in El Nuevo Diario. The use of these structures has grown by 1,912% over the past few years. From some 270,000 m2 in 2004 the production area has grown to 5,042,000 m2 and production has increased by 85,000,000lbs.
