The Ministry of Labor’s National Salaries Committee has set a new minimum wage rate for workers in the sugar industry. The new minimum monthly salary for employees who do not work in the fields is RD$5,000. The new national minimum salary for field workers is RD$129 per day for an eight-hour day.
