Record week for water

The Santo Domingo Corporation of Aqueducts and Sewers (CAASD) has announced that it supplied between 413 and 415 million gallons of drinking water last week, a record for the institution. Drop in fuel import prices benefits balance of payments

The National Statistics Office (ONE) reported yesterday, Tuesday 17 May 2016, that the petroleum and petroleum by-product imports (FOB values) for 2015 were US$2.69 billion, down US$1.36 billion or 33.6% compared to 2014 when imports reached US$4.05 billion. The decline allowed for an overall drop in imports of 2.3%, which benefited the balance of payments. …
