Dominican government is big spender in advertising
The Nielsen-IBOPE survey on advertising spending from January to November 2017 was dominated by advertisers sponsoring soap operas on TV. Among other findings: TV advertising declined 11% in 2017, compared to 2016. Advertisers spent RD$27.6 billion, accounting for 67% of the bulk of advertising campaigns.
