The more Discos the Merrier, more people working more options. Competition is good for business, it also creates a better product as other restaurants, bars and Discos have to up thier game.

The more he drinks the nicer he treats you. And if you are African American and sitting at a table by yourself drinking a beer , or in a group which is drinking modestly that night , he may even join you for some pleasant conversation to liven you up..
If only there were the people to actually go to those businesses.
In the DR, all too frequently one successful business leads to those that copy it until no one does well.
Still hitting The Del Rey....................................

thats about it right there. instead of two guys providing a top quality product, thirty mopes want to get into the same game, and everyone loses.
The old HC was there where the road turns north toward the Playa Chiquita casino 19°46'23.13"N 70°30'22.39"WA larger disco at the east end of Pedro Clisante. Not near center of town, which means walking there is not going to happen for most people. It was one of the nicer places in Sosua, back when I arrived about 14 years ago.
Probably will close again before Ahnvee, just a hop, skip and jump down the same street from it, does.
Neither stands to last long.

Place was packed in 1999 when I first came to Sosua. Closed 2 years later and Sosua a dead town but that was post 9/11 and the Belle Harbor crash.
Is this Mr. AD Dominican or foreigner? Where did he run his business in Boca Chica? Just curious.

I believe he is originally from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. AKA "Holland" (and to quote George Costanza, "well then who the hell are the Dutch?")
Not sure about Boca Chica, but if my memory serves me correctly, here in Sosua he was associated with:
The Black Box (on the beach) - Now closed.
Los Toros (on PC) - Shut down by the authorities. Now "Bourbon Street".
Rancho Tipico (on PC) - Shut down by the authorities
City Lights (on PC) - Temporarily closed. Furniture confiscated. Ad forced out. Then reopened under different management.
High Caribbean (on Far East end of PC) - Grand Reopening last week after being closed for 10+ years.
Did I miss anything?
