Is it just me or is the dr1 forum since today full of ads.

I always had a banner on top but now I have banners all over the page and even between a post and the like / thanks box.

Makes it annoying to read (and I don’t need a ‘dakkapel’)

Happened to me....

Still going on....

Still going on with me too - now I am getting them in German. They are on every post or every other one, and I can't turn on ad blocker as I do adwords for some clients so need to check they are appearing where they are supposed to.I suppose at least I will know if the kids are downloading porn sites as the ads will pop up all over DR1.

I am getting it too. It just started today.

Mauricio’s examples are what I am seeing. At the top, in the middle of posts and at the bottom. Never had this problem before.

It's not a problem, its a feature :)

Yes, correct. What I meant was the ads popping up everywhere. Something has changed for the ads to start appearing as they are now.

I will wait until it is corrected or for further instruction.

AdGuard is also good.

AdBlock plus - disable "Allow Acceptable Ads"
AdGuard - disable "Allow search ads and websites self-promotion"

Then, no ads will be seen.

I thought it was some virus that affected DR1, mostly because some adds cover parts of certain buttons, such as this one at the bottom that covers part the Reply to Thread button.

I do not have any problems using Firefox, Opera, Chrome or Internet Explorer, so can not test further.

No ads at this end.....

I wonder if deleting cookies and/or clearing cache would help?

Those browsers have built in ad blocking. Do you have that setting turned on? I confirmed yesterday that without ad blocking turned on, the ads appear top, bottom and mid thread. Turn blocking on again and they are all gone.

If you're not seeing the ads, something is preventing them from being displayed.

I turned off ADBLOCK on Opera, still no ads except the normal ones at the top of page.

I’m seeing them only at the bottom of the page (iPhone 8 plus). I had to laugh because there was a big link for an IOS Adblock :)

I was getting those pesky ads yesterday. I added the Ublock extension to chrome; bingo, no more ads (at least not in DR1).

I am getting them all over the place to...... sort of banners.....and yes, strangely they do sort of cover up some dr1 buttons.

I havent changed any settings. So something has changed on dr1.

And they are smart-ads....... changed mobile phone operator a couple of days ago, lots of banners on phone offers and all french stuff too.... they know where I am at.......creepy.

Lots of companies are being affected by Googles new Aggressive Marketing .. and their Latest Version of Chrome (v65)? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Chrome_version_history

Yesterday Stamps.com for example was rendered completely inoperable, could not print ANY Shipping Labels , they all came out BLANK , they had a work around but it was a PITA..
Luckily they but found the bugs and cleaned them ... and its ok now.

I'm not a Computer Guru, but these events seem to be very related ... these ADS here are most def NOT generating money for this SITE.. they are Invasive GOOGLE BANNERS , and are on every single Thread .., but again, I'm not a computer geek.. nor do i get paid to be one..
