If you can see the ads, you have not done all that you can to block them. Remember the ads are a two way street. If you can see them, they can see you.

I am getting them all over the place to...... sort of banners.....and yes, strangely they do sort of cover up some dr1 buttons.

I havent changed any settings. So something has changed on dr1.

And they are smart-ads....... changed mobile phone operator a couple of days ago, lots of banners on phone offers and all french stuff too.... they know where I am at.......creepy.

With or without "AdBlock" I was NOT getting the ads on individual posts.

I tried an experiment using Opera browser.

I disconnected my VPN and tried DR1 without "AdBlock" turned on.
I started getting the ads.
I turned "on" my "AdBlock" and all ads disappeared.

I went back to using my VPN, and the ads stilled appeared on individual posts with "AdBlock" turned off.

I deleted cache, cookies, browsing history, etc.
I even re-booted my computer.
I still get the ads with "AdBlock" turned off using Opera browser.

Looks like I´m stuck now and need to have "AdBlock" turned on to avoid the ads on DR1 with Opera browser.

So much for trying to help, I'm now being punished by "Google"?

I'm guessing Google may have put something on my computer similar to when you have a trial software package and delete cookies to try and get the same trial software package again.

My Firefox browser still remain without the ads whether I have "AdBlock" on or off when using DR1.

I dare not turn off my VPN when using other browsers at this point.

PS:

When on Opera browser and getting the ads, clicking on the ad gives you the option to never get that ad again.

My VPN is set for Dallas Texas.
Without the VPN I'm on Claro in the D.R.

I dont know, but lets put it this way, the " top page " banner which is, i guess, the " official" dr1 ad ( and often has a guzman ad ) is being shaded by all these colorful, selective, pop-up banners that appear between posts.

I will no longer  be a member of DR1 if these adds on almost each message in each thread continue to appear.  Offensive!  Like someone waving a banner outside your window!

Well ! The ads if they are? Many are arriving as new threads (posts). The post titles have Asian characters, centered within them in brackets is “CNN747.com”.

This is spam, very different, so lets not get confused.
The spam posts are either blocked or killed off as soon as we see them.

Time to put this to bed.

We are ad testing, it will continue until we have optimized some of the spots.
Could take another few days, could take longer.

Feel free to use Adblock or similar, then you will be ad free.

Closed.
