The odd thing to me is that it seems the more cash someone has on them, the more careless they are in bars and clubs.

Sure. Mostly drink bottled water and when I drink a soda, they can pour it there. My reference, however, is primarily to drinking alcohol out not in a restaurant I would frequent and know the people. In a restaurant, I either pay cash or go places where I can use my card in front of the cashier. Not too difficult.

Hey just to let you know I am well traveled and in more than 30 countries have never been drugged before
(DR wins again ;) )
...That said, once in a while I throw caution to the wind and live a little.... Realizing employees in the DR are generally paid very little I tipped generously (because I had won, my bad).....For the record I never left my drink unattended, or was drunk while gambling or after, or waved $100 bills in the air....I was drugged by a bartender, which is nearly impossible to control and I just wanted to warn the good folks on DR1.
This could of happened to anyone, as the casino had nothing to do with something being slipped into my drink at the club.

You think this is an american thing?
This is a traveler thing which you surley
Dont understand,
And as far as your statement about being happy if americans are drugged?
First and formost your an idiot,
Secondly after traveling for 25 years perhaps youll understand,
And this aint kansas dorthy,

so exactly where did you travel to, and in which capacity (business, leisure???). We all know the DR ain't Kansas. Where are you from? Redneck Alabama?

Instead of calling people who live here, stupid, you might want to listen...

But then again... you will probably show up in the statistics a year or so from now...

Hope you survive the holidays here...

Concrete guy has travelled 3 and half time around the world before the age of 19. Just didnt use english all that much in laos and thailand apparently ( or surley if u wish.....).

Anyway thanks for the info. Happened to me here a couple of years ago, I drank a presidente that was brought to me untapped and free ( should of guessed but I was already way drunk ). Thankfully I lived a couple of hundred meters down the road and was with friends. I had 2 horrible days afterwards.

Most likely the bartender had an accomplice who was going to rob you. Even though it wont help, it should be reported, anonymously would be the safest way.

There's a lot, a lot of low life people that go into that Pure disco... and a lot of girls coming from all the night clubs...Casablanca, Pasion, etc... looking for tourist... so maybe, maybe they work with the bartender to drug and ripoff people.

It's nothing new here in Santiago, a close friend of mine which is dominican was drugged by two women and they took everything their could. Leaving him in a Cabana with a big headache.

That's scary, I was there a few weeks ago, not that I frequent the place often, but Dubai was full and Pure was the next closest thing. 98% of the time I only drink beer, and I usually see when the bartender opens the bottle, so I guess my chances of being drugged aren't that high. Funny thing is that in many clubs, especially if I'm in the VIP section people will give me a weird look when they see me drinking beer, they probably think I'm cheap for not having the expensive bottles everyone else loves to buy.

I do the same thing. It works if you avoid the happy hour buckets if beer.

If he palms the opener and cap while opening the beer, he could drop something in the top of the bottle in one swift move.

I really appreciate this thread. I don't really frequent clubs (loud music and people grinding against you make a good "panic attack" combo), but it's good to know. You can never be too well travelled to have something like this done to you, Everyone has a careless moment in life, especially when drinking.

Then, why did you bring Americans into the conversation and then say "hysterical"? I don't know you, but based on your comments here I can CONCRETELY state you are an imbecile.
