I saw another video of him in handcuffs , cant make out what its about , all spanish...
But needless to say this is not this guys first time in deep trouble .. maybe the police just had enough, and knew that with his connections, and his attitude ans a permanent get out of Jail Free Card , it would only get worse ?
And how much worse can it get than robbing a Bank and shooting off a Rifle INSIDE that bank.. ?
Obviously this guy had a total disregard for the Police..
So they took care of business.

I think you all need to consider the facts.
1. His father is a major critic of the government
2. He was arrested for supposedly stealing a plane and jailed but released for lack of evidence.
3. Following the second robbery where supposedly he was involved they said he was involved in a previous one. The only evidence of the second was the gun which was used used to belong to his father.
4. He then supposedly left the country.
5. He supposedly then returned and without hiding his face, went to a mall full of security cameras and robbed another bank using the same gun.
6. The President ( a staunch Catholic who is anti- abortion as it takes a life however said life is made be it rape or incest) says take him "dead or alive or whatever it needs".
7. He is killed outside/ inside a caba?a and his accomplices (supposed) escape in a taxi.
There is much more to this than a simple robber who never needed financially to rob banks in the first place.

*Duterte is an unhinged psychopath, responsible for thousands of extra judicial killings with a known addiction to fentanel. His latest claim is that he has thrown people out of helicopters. To point out Duterte as model behavior that would improve the Dominican Republic is ridiculous in the extreme.*
Matilda' post is very interesting. This whole case is convoluted and if the past is any indicator we will never know what really happened. If the police had time to empty the cabana then they could have gotten the robber alive. Looks like he was intentionally silenced. Not much likely to change here. Glad no innocent bystanders were killed.
Just to clear some points:
Even when certain police units are equipped with fully auto M-16s as well as other types of fully auto capable rifles/guns, by absolute restriction they are not allowed to go full auto at any time other than military engagement.
This was instituted as a result of an agreement reached by the DR and world body representatives after sanctions were being promoted against the police and military performing policing actions. It used to be that during some intercambios de disparos, the said actors utilized full auto and the outcome was very deadly for the suspects.
This goes back during the administration of Candelier...
As far as I know, the only unit that's allowed to make use of full auto as a matter of immediate neutralization of threats, is the guardia presidencial. This is known as the first regiment of the presidential guard. They carry at full auto, all the time.
There's no way any officer or agent fired his weapon at full auto during that shooting.
Keep in mind DR units employ either the M-16 or M-4s, the civilian semi-auto AR-15 is NOT issued to units.
These will be found on the hands of the bad guys 99% of the time.

Update. Police have a hotel in Dajabon surrounded, presumably Brayan Felix Paulino is inside. Name of the hotel is Hotel Massacre. Ominous name.
