Haiti Update: Jean Jumeau resigns; Sunrise Airways offers flights from Cap Haitien to Miami

In a news story breaking on 26 March 2024, it is now known that Rene Jean Jumeau has resigned from being one of the nine members of the Presidential Transition Council appointed to replace Prime Minister Ariel Henry. Henry is said to be in California, USA. He is impeded from returning to Haiti but says he must sign off on the members and publish these in the Le Moniteur, the official journal in Haiti, for the new council to go into effect. The UN-US-Caricom endorsed council has yet to name its president.

Jean Jumeau would have represented the Rassemblement pour une Entente Nationale et Souveraine (REN) in the Caricom-approved Transitional Presidential Council (TPC). He had served as minister for energy matters during the government of President Michel Martelly (2011-2016).

flew out of SDQ yesterday, just before the exit ramp to the airport, a USAF C-17 Globemaster III appeared right after a northbound takeoff, magnificent sight, you think its trip to Las Americas had anything to do with Haiti, haha
